Downloads

I have a number of downloads related to Transport Tycoon. If you are looking for more scenarios, check out The Ultimate Transport Tycoon Game Repository, a site with hundreds of saved games and scenarios.

To download the game itself, check out OpenTTD - my easy setup guide should get you started.

General Downloads

  • Transport Tycoon Deluxe VEHICLE.DAT file
    Size: 1.06KB
This file contains a list of the Transport Tycoon vehicles in a TT Deluxe VEHICLE.DAT file. This will let you use the original Transport Tycoon names, such as Boeing 747 and Volvo Bus. However, you will get mixed results in the Arctic and Tropical climates, with some of the vehicle names being realistic, and others not.

Scenarios and Saved Games

The saved game downloads have been moved here, and the scenario downloads have been moved here.

Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager

  • Transport Tycoon Saved Game Manager
    Version 2.3, 2.58MB
Version 2.3 of my Saved Game Manager is the best version yet. There are several fixes and updates since version 2.2 - click here to find out more. This package includes everything you need, with the possible exception of the two files below.
  • HTML Help Update
    From microsoft.com
If you receive a message during Setup about HTML Help, you may have to download the HTML Help Update. Do a search on Microsoft's web site for "hhupd.exe", and you should find a download listing with this file included. Also check the site mentioned below. Please note that you will probably only get a message about this if you are using Windows 95 or NT 4.0, without Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher installed.
  • WININET.DLL
If you are using Windows 95, you may not have the WININET.DLL file. If you receive a message during Setup, you'll probably need to install Internet Explorer (5.5 is the latest version to run under Windows 95).

TTDAlter

  • TTDAlter
    Version 4.3, 2.12MB

TTDAlter 4.3 is a new version of the program that lets you modify the TTD vehicles! Have 20,000mph trains or planes that carry 32,000 passengers! See the TTDAlter page for more information, and read the Readme file during Setup before using this program. This version does not require a previous version of TTDAlter, but will upgrade any 4.x version automatically.
  • Windows Installer for Windows 95/98/Me
    Version 2.0, 1.62MB
This is the Windows Installer service for Windows 95/98/Me. TTDAlter 4.0.10 and higher uses this for its installation routine. Run the NeedWI.exe program included with the TTDAlter installation files to determine if you need to download this.
  • Windows Installer for Windows NT/2000
    Version 2.0, 1.73MB
This is the Windows Installer service for Windows NT/2000. TTDAlter 4.0.10 and higher uses this for its installation routine. Run the NeedWI.exe program included with the TTDAlter installation files to determine if you need to download this.

TTDX Editor

  • TTDX Editor
    Version 1.20, 2.14MB

TTDX Editor 1.20 lets you modify many aspects of Transport Tycoon Deluxe saved games - vehicles, stations, landscape, industries, companies... you name it, you can probably modify it! This download includes an installation program with all necessary components (with some exceptions; see below).
  • TTDX Editor source
    GitHub repository

The source code for TTDX Editor can be found on GitHub. A source code bundle for version 1.20 can also be downloaded from the Releases page.
  • Windows Scripting Host 5.6 for Windows 95/98/Me/NT 4.0
    Version 5.6, 663KB
Windows Scripting Host 5.6 is required to be installed before you can use TTDX Editor on Windows 95, 98, Me or NT 4.0. This is included in Internet Explorer 6.0, so if you already use IE6, you don't need to install this as well. If you are on Windows 95, please download and install DCOM95 (below) before WSH.
  • Windows Scripting Host 5.6 for Windows 2000
    Version 5.6, 658KB
Windows Scripting Host 5.6 is required to be installed before you can use TTDX Editor on Windows 2000. This is included in Internet Explorer 6.0, so if you already use IE6, you don't need to install this as well.
  • DCOM95
    Version 1.3, 1.16MB
If you are still running Windows 95, you must install the DCOM95 libraries before installing Windows Scripting Host or TTDX Editor. You've probably got it installed already if you've installed any moderately complex application in the last 12 or so years, but just in case you haven't, here it is to download.

Music Downloads

That's all for now. Enjoy!
